the nurses did get me and endone order, and the doc apparently wrote me up for when necessary tapentadol ( quick release ). yup. i was royally pissed off.

the whole thing was a joke, but not a funny one. after fasting me from midnight (which means no breakfast), when i finally returned to the ward i found that the nurses had forgotten to order my lunch. so i sat there until 2pm when i did the Rose thing. Got myself dressed, packed my bag, then went down to the nurses station to ask for my discharge papers.

there was a nurse there who made the mistake of asking me did i need help. at which point i burst into tears and said i just want to go home.

you see, sprite, on the Wednesday night my youngest boy (man) was involved in a car accident which wrote off his car. he's fine, some pretty bad bruising from the seatbelt, but that was all.

then Thursday morning we found out the other driver had died after he was transported to hospital. and all Josh couuld say "i want Mum. I need to talk to Mum"

you see, it was peak hour. there was alane full of cars waiting to turn right, and when Josh turned into the main road, the left and middle lane had cars in them. so Josh moved over. then this twit of a driver decided to do a blind u turn through the traffic. Josh had nowhere to go.

so there i was, stuck in hospital, quite well enough to go home, knowing my son needed me. i was desperate.

well that too. it's amazing i didn't lose all self control. i could have just walked i guess, except all my meds were locked in a drawer, and i needed the nurse to unlock it. not to mention i still had my IV bung in my hand.

oh just a side note.... i requested to be admitted to a different hospital but the receptionist at the surgeon's rooms made a mistake and booked me into this hospital. next year i will insist on the hospital i had chosen initially. i just wanted to get this done and dusted, so i didn't object too loudly.
